The Andalusian Government’s logistics strategy is based on the Andalusian Logistics Network project, a set of logistics infrastructures promoted by the Regional Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Land Management that articulate, from a logistics point of view, the entire Andalusian territory:
Network operation, organized into logistics nodes interconnected by road and rail, with connections to the large commercial ports in Andalusia.
11 logistics nodes in total, 7 port and 4 inland, with a surface area of 1,800 hectares at their maximum development.
Orientation towards intermodality, integrating modern and efficient railway terminals.
External connection, supported by the powerful port system existing in the Región, the excellent high-capacity road network available, and the Railway Corridors of the Trans-European Transport Network, both in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Corridors.
A unique development and management model, through the public company “Red Logística de Andalucía S.A”, which facilitates public-private partnership models.
Red Logística de Andalucía S.A. is a public commercial company created in 2011 after the process of reorganizing and grouping the logistics and transport centers of the Junta de Andalucía in Seville, Malaga, Córdoba and Algeciras.
The company is responsible for the management and operation of the network of Logistics Areas of Autonomous Interest.
It is currently owned by the Public Port Agency of Andalusia, the majority shareholder, the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay, the City Council of San Roque, the Housing and Rehabilitation Agency of Andalusia (AVRA) and the Innovation and Development Agency of Andalusia (IDEA).
In 2020, a protocol was also signed for the incorporation of Seville and Huelva Port Authorities into the company.
